Churchward Park, Swindon
At Churchward Village in Swindon, Carillion is bringing new life to the former locomotive works of the Great Western Railway, as part of an extensive regeneration project.
Work on the 138-acre site incorporates several mixed use schemes within a mile-long site located in an important conservation area alongside the main London to Bristol rail line. Our investment also included the construction of roads, sewers and associated infrastructure.
Centred around a 20,000 sq ft undercover Great Western Designer Outlet Shopping Centre, the Churchward Village project includes regeneration of many historic listed buildings and the accommodation of original architecture from the Brunel period.
When work is completed, Churchward will be home to the new National Trust UK Headquarters, as well as The National Monuments Records Centre, a Great Western Railway museum, an urban residential development, hotel accommodation and office suites.
