Safety

Many of the projects we work on are safety critical, and our people work in a wide range of inherently dangerous environments, such as roads, rail and construction. In building, we have led the way in improving standards of safety, with our methods being adopted by the Major Contractors Group as a national standard. Today, our behaviour-based approach to safety is changing practice and reducing accident rates in many industries.

Target Zero In October 2004, Carillion launched a new Health and Safety strategy, called ‘Target Zero’, across the whole of its business in the UK and international regions.
