Milestones

Roads and motorways are still the most important lifelines between our population centres... towns, cities, suburbs and villages.

There are more than 200,000 miles of roads in the UK, from winding country lanes to modern motorways, and life without them would be hard to imagine.

Perhaps you understandably grumble when "Road Works Ahead" or traffic queues delay your journey. But have you ever stopped to think how UK roads first came into being, or how they're actually built today?

And if you'd like to know even more about this fascinating subject, we'd be happy to provide you with any technical information you need, just e-mail us!!
