Reach for the sky with Carillion

14/09/2005

Construction and services company Carillion gave a group of young adults a taste of the high life with a tour of the 48-storey Beetham Hilton construction project in Manchester.

The visit was organised in conjunction with Fairbridge in Greater Manchester, a national charity offering long-term personal development programmes for inner city young people. The group was taken to the top of the building, currently the 37th floor, where they had a fantastic view over the surrounding area of Manchester and all its ongoing construction projects.

The site tour was followed up by a visit to Carillion’s Construction Training Centre in Salford, where the young people learned about careers in construction and tried their hands at bricklaying.

Carillion got involved with Fairbridge through their long-term support for Norfox (North West Property Festival of Christmas), a property community charity based in the North West. Norfox supports non-mainstream charities and last year made substantial donations to Manchester Children’s’ Hospital, Fairbridge in Manchester and Bolton Lads and Girls Clubs.
