Carillion Building named Contractor of the Year

08/10/2004

Support services and construction company Carillion has scooped a top industry award.

Carillion Building was named Building Contractor of the Year in the Contract Journal Construction Industry Awards 2004 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel last night (Thursday).

The company fought off stiff opposition from a number of rivals to lift the prestigious award.

In presenting the accolade to Carillion, the judges remarked that the award was made in recognition of ‘Carillion’s ability to deliver complex projects on time and budget.’

Commenting on the award Tony Lenehan, Carillion Building managing director said: “We are very proud to have won this award. It reflects all the hard work which has been going on by the teams and highlights the role Carillion has in leading the industry.”

This award is Carillion's second best contractor award this year following on the heels of the Brick Award presented by key client Asda in June.
